Banana Bread with Walnut Crumb Topping

Ingredients
Bread
- 1/2 c Butter softened
- 1 c Sugar
- 2 lg Eggs
- 4 Bananas ripened
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 1/2 c All Purpose Flour
Topping
- 1/4 c All Purpose Flour
- 1/4 c Sugar
- 1/4 c Walnuts finely chopped
- 3 tbsp Butter softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, beat well again. In a separate bowl smash the bananas with a fork. Then add the rest of the batter and mix well.
- Add the remaining bread ingredients, mix well. Pour into a well greased and floured 9″x 5″ loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, add in the topping ingredients, flour, sugar and walnuts. Cut the butter in with a large fork or pastry cutter. Once everything is combined and resembles coarse crumbs, sprinkle along the top of the bread.
- In a preheated over at 350°F, bake for 1 hour or until center is done.
- Cool slightly before removing from the pan. Serve warm or cold, with or without butter. Either way it is delicious!
